Bertie Trammell

February 8, 1937 — June 15, 2018

Bertie Lee Roper Trammell, age 81 of E. First St. went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, June 15, 2018. She was born February 8, 1937 in Cleveland County to the late J.Y. and Burnie Poole Roper. Bertie was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was retired from Carolina Care as a Certified Nursing Assistant and had formerly been employed as a seamstress with Sweet Tree in Cherryville. Bertie loved to help others. She enjoyed going out to eat and having family gatherings. Bertie also going to yard sales and traveling to the beach. She loved the Lord, her church, and her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Trammell; daughter, Barbara Trammell; brothers, Donald and Jack Roper; and sister, Dot Black.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Frady and husband, David of Cherryville; grandchildren, Greg Frady and wife, Jennifer of Manteo, Nathan Frady and wife, Emily of Lincolnton, and Leslie Reynolds and husband, Alfredo of Asheville; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Roper of Shelby; and sister, Louise Rhom of Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:30 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Linda and David Frady.
