Betty Dellinger

October 13, 1938 — January 17, 2019

Betty Lou Goins Dellinger, age 80 of Bess Rd. passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Roland and Parlee White Goins. She was retired from Modern Polymers and formerly attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her animals. Betty was a talented seamstress who passed along her love for sewing to many in the family. Her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed cookouts and any event where she had an opportunity to spend time with her loved ones, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dellinger; son, Ricky Kenneth Dellinger; sisters, Lillie Mae Wright and Vevette Ross; and brothers, Jack, Bobby Dean, Tom, and Frank Goins.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Dellinger Gunter (Ted) of Bessemer City and Judy Dellinger Hicks (Jimmy Cook) of Kings Mountain; daughter-in-law, Pat Beary; brother, Bud Goins; sisters, Pauline Willis, Sue Neill, and Barbara Ann Williams; grandchildren, Becky Dellinger, Christy Hudson (Scott), Teddy Gunter, Daniel Hampton (Tawnya Kelly), Vivian Hampton, Ashley Hicks; great-grandchildren, Ricky, Eli, Shana, Roger, Shawn Aaron, Bethany, Raven, and Marcel.

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 5:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:30 to 4:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
