Betty Mcswain

July 17, 1932 — March 5, 2021

Betty Jean Huss McSwain, 88, of Cherryville entered Heaven Friday, March 5, 2021.  She was born July 17, 1932 in Gaston County to the late Berge Coley and Annie Beam Huss.  She was a member of First Wesleyan Church and attended Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church.  She was always very devoted and an active member of her churches and loved to serve her Lord.  She was an excellent homemaker and cook.  Betty loved children, going to the beach, and flowers.  She was a very loving and humble mother who lived a life dedicated to her family and God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ford Jerome McSwain; son-in-law, Daniel Dixon; brothers, Coley, Bud, and Jack Huss; and sister, Lois Hayes.

Survivors include her three daughters, Alice Mauney (Berry), Vickie Dixon, and Shannon Holt (William); grandchildren, Stacey Black Glover (Shane), Michael Dale Black (Laurie), Annie Neeley Cranford (Victor), and Amber Smiley (Justin); great grandchildren, Autumn Hight (Justin), Brandon Glover, Dominick Cranford Caldera, Trent Black, Tripp Black, Bella Black, and Mallory Black; and great great grandchildren, Brentlie Hight and Ryker Hight.

A private graveside service will be held at City Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice of Catawba or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
