Bobby "Jerry" Shalp

Bobby “Jerry” Shalp, age 58, went home to be with Jesus on February 27, 2024. Jerry was born on June 3, 1965, in Gaston County to the late Geraldine and Bobby Shalp. He fought hard. Jerry was a hard-working man, he loved fixing old lawn mowers. He could rig anything up so it would run like new. Jerry loved his family and going places with them. He enjoyed going fishing. He loved watching and yelling at the T.V. when his favorite teams were playing, the Dallas Cowboys and the Duke Blue Devils. He loved any outdoor activities, but his favorite was playing horseshoes and corn hole. He also loved riding motorcycles.

Greeting Jerry in heaven was his mom and dad; Geraldine and Bobby Shalp.

Living relatives are his loving wife, that stood by his side for 31 years, Tammy Shalp; 3 sons, Bobby Shalp and girlfriend, Deanna Caswell, Brent Walker and fiancé Dana Page, and Jacob Shalp and girlfriend, Cadiebelle Leohardt; daughter, Tonya Wilson and husband, Paul Wilson; 4 grandkids, Kayson Shalp, Kinsley Shalp, Riley Wilson, and Cooper Wilson; sisters, Shelby Begley and husband, Tony, of Kings Mountain, Sheila Towery and husband, Jimbob, of Bessemer City, Connie Stiles of Bessemer City, and Kathy Casselman and husband, Lee, of Shelby; brothers, Barry Shalp and wife, Tina, of Gastonia, and Ricky Shalp and wife, Beverly, of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2024, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
