Butch Carpenter

Clayton Eugene "Butch" Carpenter Sr. age 65 of Lincolnton Hwy, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born on October 19, 1950 in Lincoln County to the late Robert and Mary Lee Earl Carpenter. Butch formerly worked with Wilkie Construction. He enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole, and horseshoes. He also enjoyed working on lawn mowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Survivors include his children, Angie Shrewsbury (Thomas) and Clayton E. Carpenter Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, Thomas, and Andrew Shrewsbury and Lily Carpenter; girlfriend, Barbara Isaacs; brothers, Doug Carpenter (Diane), Ted Carpenter (Snook), and Peanut Carpenter; and sisters, Evon Franklin (David), Sissy Carpenter, and Mary Ann Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 6:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
