Carol Porter

Carol Elizabeth Kiser Porter, age 72 of Landers Chapel Rd. passed away Monday, May 22, 2017. She was born July 20, 1944, an only child to the late Preston Lohr and Eunice Viola Kiser Kiser. Carol was a very active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College and received her Masters' degree from Winthrop University. Mrs. Porter was an educator of young minds for nearly 35 years. She taught in Cherryville, Lowell, and Bethware Elementary Schools and was a member of NCLEA. Carol adored her family, loved puppies, enjoyed the rain, and liked to travel.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jerry Lee Porter; children, Kimberly Porter Rana of Lincolnton, Kelly Porter Johnson and husband, Michael of Easley, SC, and Chad Kiser Porter and wife, Tamyra Katherine Porter of Germantown, MD; grandchildren, Krishna and Ashton Rana, Katie, Megan, and Natalie Johnson, Preston, Alexis, and Loralee Porter; and numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven P. King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:30 PM prior to the service in the Historic Bethel Lutheran Church.
