E. G. Brown

Emory George “E.G.” Brown, age 67, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born May 26, 1954 to the late Angus Morris and Ethel Barnes Brown.

E.G. was retired from American & Efird Inc. after more than 40 years of service. He was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his fur baby Chance. He loved being outdoors and spending time at church. One of his favorite things to do was going to family gatherings and eating. E.G. loved food. He would take photos of his meals and send them to his friends, tempting them. E.G. was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Norma “Cissy” Brown Ledwell and Bill Ledwell.

Survivors include his companion of 17 years, Cindi Beal McLeymore; sons, Darryl McLeymore (Nina), Jeff McLeymore (Wendy), and Doug Arrowood (Carrie); grandchildren, Eric McLeymore, Blake and Haylee McLeymore, Kallie and Ethan Frazier, Christopher and Andrea Murray; and great grandchildren, Charlee McLeymore, Decker Frazier, and Jason Murray.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Huss and Rev. Wayne Key officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive Monday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
