Harold "Tiger" Gene Beam, 83, of Suncrest Rd., died Sept. 1, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1935 in Gaston County to the late J. C. and Odessa McGinnis Beam. Tiger was a member of First Presbyterian Church but attended Anthony Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and was a diehard Atlanta Braves fan. He found great pleasure in his Dodge "Little Red Wagon". Mr. Beam was proudly active in Alcoholics Anonymous for over 42 years and served his country in the US Army. Also he was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers Trailer Shop.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Ann Beam and a brother, Jim Beam.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Reba Daves Beam; son, John Beam (Rebecca) of Iron Station and Julie Hefner (Rodney) of Cherryville; five grandchildren; siblings, Charles Beam and Kay Neal (John) both of Cherryville.
Grave side services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM at City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating. The family will receive friends Monday at the home from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Military Honors by American Legion Post #100.
