Harold Matheson

December 31, 1952 — June 17, 2017

Harold Eugene Matheson, age 64 of Raven Dr. passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home. He was born December 31, 1952 in Gaston County to the late Earl Eugene and Earline Fite Matheson. Harold was a U.S Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors including four-wheeling and camping and visiting the beach and mountains. He was a very social person who loved people and adored his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by granddaughter, Addison Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra Ann Flowers Matheson; children, Robie Matheson and wife, Windy of Bessemer City and Cindy Carpenter and fiancé, Rodney Bridges of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Lane Carpenter. Stephanie Carpenter, Danielle Skipper and husband, Logan, Jeremy Bridges and Tyler Bridges and wife, Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Dawson Skipper; siblings, Marvin Matheson and wife, Ailene and Rhonda Hager and husband, Wayne and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Neely and Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Post #243. Family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.

Memorials may be made to Crowder's Mountain Shrine Club, 152 Long Creek Rd Bessemer City, North Carolina 28016.
