Helen Quinn

December 19, 1920 — March 2, 2018

Helen Sloop Quinn age 97, formerly of Wright Circle in Cherryville passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Brian Center Cabarrus. She was born December 19, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Charles Clayton Sloop, Sr. and Myrtle Lipe Sloop. Helen was a member of First Presbyterian Church (Cherryville, NC) and then Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (Concord, NC) where faithfully served her churches. She was a homemaker extraordinaire who specialized in caregiving and nurturing. She was always doting on her family and took pride in caring for them all. Helen was an excellent cook and enjoyed Politics. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Helen was an intelligent, thoughtful, kind, woman and devoted Christian.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pratt Quinn; and brother, Charles Clayton Sloop, Jr.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Betsy Sloop of Concord; niece, Rebecca Miller; nephew, Charles C. Sloop III (Celeste), four great nieces and nephews; her stepdaughter, Patricia Rhoades and husband, Robert of Virginia; grandchildren Ashley Goodstein (Mark) and April Maurer (Ron); five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
