Horace Lutz

Horace Eli Lutz, age 75, of Waco passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center Main. He was born May 20, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late William Hoyle and Frances Houser Lutz. He was a research and developmental chemist for Hoescht Celanese. Horace was a member and former sound man for Waco Baptist Church where he was a member of William Dodd Sunday School class. He was a graduate of Western Carolina and was the former mayor of Waco. He served in the U.S Army and was also a member of the Shelby Amateur Radio Club and Buick GS Club of America.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Hoyle Lutz, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kunkel Lutz; son, Jason Heath Lutz of Olive Branch, MS; and granddaughter, Kayla Renee Lutz of Oxford, MS.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Waco Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Fite officiating. Burial following in the Capernaum Cemetery in Waco with full military honors. Family will receive friends Monday evening at Carpenter- Porter Funeral & Cremation Services from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
