Pastor Jim Cape

May 14, 1957 — March 23, 2024

Lincolnton

Pastor James Harold “Jim” Cape, age 66, of Lincolnton, stepped from here to Glory on Saturday, March 23, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 14, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to the late James Tillman and Margaret Ruth White Cape.  Jim evangelized for several years before going on to Pastor at Open Door Apostolic and then Community Full Gospel.  He had a desire to serve the Lord and always wanted to help guide others to follow Jesus.   Preaching was his passion, and he was a true leader of his home and his community.  He adored his family and treasured all the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He was a gun enthusiast, enjoyed tinkering around outside, and could fix anything.  Acts 2:38

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jimma Cape Kiser.

Jim always said, “His progeny is his legacy.” Survivors include his devoted wife of 48 years, Kathryn Hall “Kathy” Cape; daughters, Tamara Cape (Eric Vogel), Elizabeth King (Rev. Jonathan), Kristin Bradley (Thomas); grandchildren, Christian James “CJ” Cape, Lauren Bates (Steven), Malachi Grant (Christi), Elisha Kiser, Kathryn King, Victoria Springsteen, Julianna King, and Nathan King; great grandchildren, Kirra, Presley, Spencer, Leighton, and Jerric; and siblings, Linda Powell (Nelson), Mildred Reyes (Kitty), Deborah Powell (Dennis), and Danny Ray Cape (Deborah).

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Dr. Lincolnton, NC 28092.
