Jesse Jones

Jesse Kay Jones, age 82, of Chapman Rd passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 4, 1934 in Catawba County to the late Manson and Lillian Jones. Jesse was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea and was a member of Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Tansy Shull Jones; sons, Robert Jones of Florida, James Jones of Hickory, Sonny Jones, Tony Jones and Kim Jones all of Cherryville; daughters, Patricia Sigmon of Newton, Mandie Davis of Florida and Beverly King of Newton; sisters, Ocie Turbyfill, Gay Reynolds and Jean Dale and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 PM until 3:15 PM at the church.
