John Brannan

April 6, 1946 — January 14, 2017

John Edward Brannan, age 70 of Forest Ridge Dr. passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1946 in Rockaway Queens, New York to the late Edward and Elizabeth Wilson Brannan. He worked for Wells Fargo as a QA Systems Analyst 5. John was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed boxing, NASCAR and smoking cigars. He loved helping others and was a friend of Bill W. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family and his dog, Lee Roy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sue Brannan.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Gilchrest Brannan; daughter, Tammy McCarthy and husband, Leonard of Arcata, CA; son, Jason Brannan and wife, Natalie of Crouse; grandchildren, Leina Moore, Lizzie Brannan, and Caleb McCarthy; and brothers, Eddie Brannan and wife, Pat of PA, Ray Brannan and wife, Ginny of MA, and Tom Brannan of PA.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 6:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
