Johnny Ray Goble, age 62, of Grover, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Johnny was born May 8, 1962, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Isaac and Carrie Whitley Goble. Johnny loved to be outdoors; he enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and was also a talented woodworker. Johnny had a deep appreciation for wildlife.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Heather Raines; brothers, Jim Harkey, and Will Goble; and sister, Sue Phillips.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, of 28 years, Marion Blake Goble; stepdaughters, Kimberly Walters, and Tammy Conrad; stepsons, Richard Raines (Dawn), and Ronald Keith Conrad, Jr.; stepson-in-law, Andre Kirpatrick; brothers, Billy Ray Goble, and Roger Harkey; sisters, Lucy Glenn (Wetzel), Donna Weber (Sonny), and Gail Phillips; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his 2 cats, Tigger and Abbey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Weber officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, at a later date.
