Jonathan Rhett Ray McPeters, infant son of Shana Locklair McPeters and Jonathan Ray McPeters, passed peacefully from the arms of his earthly father directly into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Levine’s Children Hospital of Charlotte. He weighed 3 pounds, 4 ounces and was 17 1/2 inches long.
Even though Jonathan never took a step in this life, he made a lasting imprint on the hearts of all those who loved him.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman Queen Sr., Edna Darby, Billy McPeters, Billy and Lucille Walker, Houston Sr., and Inell Tolbert.
He is survived by his parents, Shana and Jonathan McPeters; sisters, Leeanna and Macy McPeters; maternal grandparents, Brandi and Shaine Locklair; paternal grandparents, Will and Jamie McPeters, and Carrie and Chris Block; maternal great-grandparents, Hoyt and Phyllis Darby, and Robert and Joanne Locklair; paternal great-grandparents, Mary McPeters, Lee and Debbie Young, and Mike and Karen Tolbert; aunts and uncles, Logan Locklair (Avery) Greene, Taylor (Isaiah) Weikle, Billy (Tabitha) McPeters, Elizabeth (Tyler) Mullis, and Christopher Block; and numerous cousins.
Jonathan’s homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 PM May 2, 2024, at South Gastonia Church of God with Pastor Adrian Franklin officiating. A private burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
