Kathryn Crumpton

Kathryn Sue Helms Crumpton, age 80, formerly of Lee Black Road died Friday, December 9, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center - Columbia, SC. She was born September 14, 1936 in Gaston County to the late John Wesley and Blanche Water Helms Jones. Kathryn was employed at Arlington Mill of Ti Caro Textiles for 42 years and attended Victory Life Assembly of God in Cherryville. She was an avid 'I Love Lucy' fan and adored her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Julius "Jim" Miles Crumpton; and siblings, Betty Strickland and Kenneth and Randy Helms.

She is survived by her children, Mike Crumpton of Elloree, SC, David Crumpton (Joyce) of Shelby, Kathy Williamson (Ricky) of Lincolnton and Sandra Hendrix (Floyd) of Denver; brothers, Keith Helms and John Wesley Helms; sister, Vergie Blankenship; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mike Whisnant officiating. Family will receive friends Monday prior to the service at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
