Maggie Rayfield

Maggie Levada Black Rayfield, age 99 of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Crawford Georgia.  She was born March 4, 1920 in Cleveland County to the late Joseph Thomas and Cleo Davis Black.  She was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.  She was a devoted Christian who walked very closely with God.  Maggie was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Floyd Rayfield; daughter, Patrisha Hainstock; grandchildren, Koby Rayfield, Shannon Denise Cox, and Scott McLeymore; and nine siblings.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis Rayfield and wife, Diane of Blacksburg, SC, Rev. Gary Rayfield and wife, Judy of Peoria, AZ, and Keith Rayfield and wife, Millie of Kings Mountain; son-in-law, Robert Hainstock; grandchildren, Leslie Rayfield, Scott Rayfield, Daphne Albritton, Chris Rayfield, Carrie Johnson, Kim Trampota, Sara Vance, Joseph Rayfield, Andrew Rayfield, , Greg McLeymore, Lachelle Crosby, Kasey Solis, and Calista Whitney; 32 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Neely officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
