Marshall "Gene" Butler

Marshall Eugene Butler, age 62, passed away at home, with his loving wife beside him, on May 17, 2024. Gene was born on June 6, 1961, to the late Grady Marshall Butler and Alice Faye Chapman Butler. Gene enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved going fishing and camping. He also enjoyed doing yardwork. Gene was also known as “Blue” to his friends and family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Maria Dawn Cordell Butler; children, Jessica Dawn Wiley (Bobby Joe), Laura Morene (Jonathan), and Jay Daniel Butler; sisters, Michelle Willis (Randy), and Leisa Marsh; mother-in-law, Reba Cordell; brother-in-law, Larry Brion Cordell (Misty Payne Cordell); and grandchild, Alisia Amber Gold.

The family will hold a Memorial Gathering from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Gene and Maria’s home – 2748 Clineland Rd, Lot 16, Cherryville, North Carolina.
