Marty Homesley

Wade Hampton “Marty” Homesley, age 62, of Mary’s Grove Church Road, passed away Thursday December 26, 2019 at home. He was born August 21, 1957 in Cleveland County to the late Wade Martin Homesley and Mary Magdelene Towery Wright.

Marty attended Wingate University where he was a scholarship baseball player. He was a former little league and senior league baseball coach. He was a retired dock worker from Carolina Frieght.

Left to cherish his memory is son, Logan Seth Homesley; brother, David Wright (Dana) of Cherryville, sister, Billie Wright Wise of Cherryville; the Lovelace family, the Esper Towery family; numerous cousins; and special friends, including Linda Green, Kelly Wayne Webb, Reggie Whitworth, and Billy Howze.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Monday December day 30, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Randy Heffner officiating.

His family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
