Mildred Putnam

Mildred Rose Conley Putnam, 84, of Maple St., died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Putnam was born in Rutherford County January 8, 1934, a daughter of the late George and Grace Woods Conley. She was retired from Bali Industries and was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church. Mildred enjoyed spending time at the beach and pier fishing. She was also a member of the Good Sam Cherries Camping Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garrison Putnam; son, Robert Dean Canipe; and sister, Julia Conley Wehunt.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Allen Canipe and wife, Debbie of Lincolnton; daughter-in-law, Carol Canipe of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Zane and Kyle Canipe of Lincolnton; great-granddaughter, Kylie Canipe; and special niece, Patsy Peeler of Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 AM.
