Minnie Dalton

Minnie Pope Dalton, age 100, of Harrilson Road, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Dalton was born on May 28, 1917 in Gaston County to the James Colin and Georgia Cline Pope. She was a member of First Methodist Church and was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. Dalton; brothers, Harlon, Gaither, Alvin, Walter, Ralph and Jesse Pope; and sisters, Etta Lois Rudisill, Eunice Canipe, and Druscilla Riddle Tallent.

Survivors include her sister, Martha Braden, Cherryville; brother, David Pope, Cherryville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will be private. The family will be at the home of Martha Braden, 401 Pine Grove Ave., Cherryville, NC.
