Nettie Gooden

Nettie Paulette Allen Gooden, age 75, of Saxon Lane, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Peak Resources of Shelby. She was born May 31, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Homer and Myrtle Allen.

Nettie was retired from Rhyne Mills. She was a past member of Howards Creek Baptist Church. Her hobbies were messing with her flowers and playing on her phone until 12 or 1 o’clock in the morning. She had a true heart of gold and loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie Curtis (Julie) of Chester, SC., David Curtis of Vale, Darin Curtis (Barbara) of Statesville, and Darlene Wetmore (Chalk) of Boone; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; her only surviving brother, Randy Allen (Libby) of Vale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

All services will be private.

Lord, then pick a bunch for us.
Then place them in our mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from us.
Tell her that we love and miss her
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.
