Rebecca Ann Wilson Bridges, age 80 of Wilson Bridges Rd passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born November 16, 1936 in Gaston County to the late Nelson Decater and Myrtle Eleanor Long Wilson. Becky was retired as Site Manager from Gaston County Meals on Wheels. She had also served on the Board of Directors for Black Mountain Children's Home, and volunteered with Samaritans Purse and the Boys and Girls Club of Bessemer City. She was a member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church and enjoyed reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Bridges; and brother, Bill Wilson and his wife, Frances.
Survivors include her children, Mike Bridges and wife, Dena of Bessemer City and Missy Curtis and husband, Joey of Franklin; grandchildren, Elizabeth B. King and husband, Chuck, Stephanie Bridges, Emilee Curtis, and Seth Curtis; sister, Sue Unnasch and husband, Ken of Bessemer City; and sister-in-law, Betty Rayfield of Bessemer City.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Long Creek Presbyterian with Rev. Dr. Charles Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
Becky had pre-registered with Wake Forest School of Medicine whole body donation program. A private graveside service will be held once the anatomical studies are completed.
