Sherry Roberson

Sherry Kay Thomas Roberson, age 57 of S. Dixie St. passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center. She was born on April 3, 1959 in Cleveland County to Juanita Goode Wallace (Lloyd) of Cherryville and the late Ernest Van Huber Thomas. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church. In earlier years, she worked at Carolina Care Center and had a home daycare. Sherry had a deep passion for children and the elderly and loved to minister and provide care for them. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas and listening to seventies music.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Mitchell Roberson.

In addition to her mother and step-father, Juanita and Lloyd Wallace, she is survived by her daughters, Christy Roberson, Nicole Roberson, and Destiny Roberson (Devan Richardson); grandchildren, Dakota Roberson, Dalton Davis, and Daysi Roberson; great-grandchild, Rhylee Richardson; brothers, Chris Wallace and Danny Thomas (Renee Tallent); sisters, Pam Morgan (Mark) and LeNita Painter (Rocky); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 5:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark B. Poe officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:45 PM prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Rocky and LeNita Painter, 371 Old Fallston Road, Cherryville.
