Tommy Brackett

January 11, 1952 — August 12, 2018

Tommy Wayne Brackett, age 66, of Beatle Street went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1952 to Grace Brackett and the late Jim Brackett. Tommy was a faithful member of First Church of Nazarene of Cherryville where he taught Sunday school and loved the kids. He loved people and his music but most of all he loved God and his family. He was an Army Veteran of the 1st Infantry, scout master and volunteered at East Elementary and Beams Intermediate. Tommy was employed by Ferguson Ace Hardware. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved by his family.

In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Jill Brackett; son, Creighton Brackett and Shelley Campbell; daughter, Wendy Brackett Hodge; brother, Gene Brackett and Sheila Iveson; grandsons, Jacob Hodge and David Taylor; nephew, Travis Brackett and Erin Baugham; great nephews, Weslee Brackett and Gage Baugham.

A Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Hartis officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #100. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30 until 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services and other times at the home.
