Willie Heavner

Willie Lee Schronce London Heavner, 84 of Startown Rd. died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Robin Johnson House. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Burke County, a daughter of the late Claude and Katie Helms Schronce. Mrs. Heavner was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cherryville, where she was involved in Sunday school and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed arts and crafts and found much pleasure and joy in camping and traveling with the Good Sam Cherries Camping group.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas "Jack" London; and granddaughter, Heather Rose London.

She is survived by her husband, Thurn Ned Heavner; son, Thomas J. London, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Murrells Inlet, SC and Newland; granddaughters, Amber Jenkins of Gastonia and Angela Burgess of Winder, GA; three great grandchildren, Leeland Jenkins, Casey Daniels, and Kayla Burgess, two great great grandchildren, Hunter Tierney and Addileigh Meeks, and her siblings, Beatrice Schronce of Lincolnton, Wilber Schronce of Cherryville, and Donnie Schronce of Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Joe Collins officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services.
