Obituary

Robert Donald “Donnie” Dellinger, Jr., age 62 of Harrelson Road, died Monday, June 6, 2022 at Atrium Health Charlotte.  He was born June 29, 1959 in Lincoln County to the late Robert Donald “Bob” Dellinger, Sr. and Joyce Brackett Dellinger. Donnie was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church.  He enjoyed detailing cars and was very particular in his work.  He also enjoyed taking walks on the beach.  Donnie never met a stranger. He loved everybody and everybody loved him.  He had an amazing heart full of kindness and love.  He was the best Pawpaw to his “Little Baby,” Shyanne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Tonda Lynn Pruett Dellinger.

Survivors include his daughter, Annie Dellinger (Heath); a granddaughter, Shyanne Dellinger; sister, Teri Dellinger Gibson (Joe); sisters-in-law, Teena Sigmon (Ricky), Teela Allen (Scotty), and Sue Pruett; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Kinman and Rev. Mike Staton officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 5:45 PM prior to the service at the church.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
